Queens Place, Balmain – Heritage House Extension Case Study

Architect: Fiona Morley

For this house extension, the rear of the property was reworked to create an extra living space for long stay guests, with natural light as a key focus. The kitchen, bathroom, and overall layout were also updated to improve day to day living. With no front yard or side access, all materials were carried through the front door, and ground conditions affected by neighbouring construction were managed on site.

The front of the home stayed unchanged to meet heritage requirements, and the rear addition improved comfort and liveability.

Testimonial

Steegecorp has recently performed renovation work, including extensions and a new bathroom, to my heritage listed property in Balmain.

Under the project management of Fiona from ARFM architects, the renovation has proved to be of outstanding quality and has drawn spontaneous admiration from all recent visitors and tradesmen to the home.

Throughout the course of the construction, the site’s limited accessibility presented unique challenges, creating difficulties with neighbours that Dan handled with great diplomacy. I’ve no hesitation in recommending Dan’s work.
